Torelli Moda Chunky
|
||||
Torelli makes Moda Chunky in three different styles: Moda Chunky Original, Gel, and Touch. All are high quality, made in Italy, padded tapes, that use 3M adhesive. This makes the tape stick on your bars while you are using it, but also allows it to come off when you are ready to change it.
Chunky is a nice thick tape with a soft, firm feel on the bars. It also absorbs sweat, unlike some cheaper tapes. It has some give and stretch, which makes wrapping around the brake levers easier. While it's not Kevlar, it doesn't tear easily. It has tapered edges, which makes the finished wrapping job look great. Look for it at your dealer's in its distinctive red, white and green packaging.
Colors available:

The inclusion of a strip of gel changes the feel of the tape entirely. It gives a firmer cushion that doesn't bottom out. The tape has just about the same thickness as our classic Chunky tape. Solid colors: black, white, red, yellow, blue.
Do you ride without gloves and like a nice firm grip on the bars? Try our "Touch" tape. It's a very dense foam that gives a unique, grippy feel. It comes embossed with the name of our favorite bikes. Extra care should be used in wrapping the bars. It's a bit more fragile than our other Chunky tapes. Solid colors: black, grey, red, yellow, blue, all with "Torelli" embossed on the tape.
The finest pump you'll ever use. Here's why:

Torelli Water Bottles: I like everything on my bike pretty. So when I went to have Torelli bottles made, I made it with a 5-color screen. Most companies, in an effort to make their logo bottle as cheap as possible, use only one color, and they look cheap. We all ride bikes that cost a fortune (if you don't believe me, tell your next-door-neighbor how much you paid for your bike). Why put cheap junk on our bikes? I asked a lot of riders what bottle they liked. I learned something interesting. They all had bottles they had managed to get for free, but when they actually had to buy a bottle, they all bought the same thing, Specialized Softops. I hate to plug a competitor, but when they get something right, I have to admit it. So we had Specialized screen our bottle. I like to know how much water I have in my bottle when I look at it, and they look better than any of the colors, so I had them made with the transluscent plastic.
21 oz. Torelli bottle suggest retail $5.95

A cute little underseat bag available in twowell, really threesizes: the Wedgemacallit standard (below left) has a capacity of 43 cubic inches. It mounts with a quick release mechanism that bolts onto the saddle rails.
The Wedgeamacallit Mini (below center) is a quick change artist: 24 cubic inches at its smallest (holds one tube), but if you need to carry a little more (2 tubes!), unzip the lower zipper and the capacity expands to 37 cubic inches (below right). All velcro attachment.
Both bags include a key clip, outer elastic pockets, reflective piping and label, and you can clip a light onto the Torelli label. The mini also has a little elastic/mesh compartment inside the door if you need to carry a cough drop!
