All of our wires are die-drawn for smoother operation. Housing is again available in colors. We stock housing and wires in three levels: Crono, for everyday repair work, Equipe, for the serious recreational rider, and Pro for the person who wants the very best.
Here are the specs for each level:
Pro: Wires are die-drawn stainless steel and coated with PTFE to be extra slick. Housing is jacketed and longitudinally reinforced. You can use this same compression-free housing on both your brakes and gears. Torelli Pro housing comes in colors. When you set up your bike with colored housing, the brake and gear housing will match and work flawlessly.
Equipe: Wires are die-drawn stainless steel. The brake housing is compression resistant autolined housing and the gear is traditional dedicated index gear housing with longitudinal wires.
Crono: Wires are die-drawn galvanized steel. There is no crono housing.
About brake wires: All Torelli wires are double-ended (both road and MTB ended). All three levels have a 6.0mm end for Shimano and other brands. Cables with the Campy 5.5mm road end are available, but only in the Pro wires.
