We're really excited about these! Only 1620 grams per pair, available with either Campy or Shimano cassette, at a price you'd expect to pay for something that weighs a lot more. Front wheel is radial 20 spoke, rear is 24, with the drive side cross 2 and the non-drive radial. Flat bladed stainless steel black spokes.
Also, the Bormio SL: the same rim and hubs with round triple-butted stainless spokes, for a weight of 1,580 grams per pair.
Suggested retail for Bormio or Bormio SL: $439.00/pair. Price does not include skewers (but they are available separately and are shown at the bottom of this page), or lock ring for the Campy version.

Need just a little bit more speed? How about Torelli Bormio SL Wheels with Hybrid Ceramic bearings? Our Ceramic wheels have 6 hybrid ceramic sealed bearings. Torelli ceramic bearings use grade 5 Silicon Nitride balls and ABEC 5 ground stainless steel races.
Grade 5 balls are made with extraordinary precision, they are within only 5 millionths of an inch from being perfectly round. For comparison sake, the steel ball bearings in Dura Ace hubs are within 25 millionths of an inch from being perfectly round. Our ABEC 5 steel races are, of course, also extremely smooth. To make the whole bearing package perfect, we use a special grease from Klüber Lubrication that is specifically designed for ceramic bearings that spin at the speeds a bicycle hub turns. The result? A hub that doesn't waste your energy.
Bormio Ceramic wheels use triple-butted stainless steel spokes, just as on the Bormio SL wheels. The rims weighs 430 grams. The hubs are laser etched in Silver.
Bormio Cermic wheels use 20 radial spokes in the front wheel, 24 spokes in the back. The drive side is laced cross-2 and the non-drive side is radial.
As with the Bormio wheels, Skewers and lock rings are not included.

Now that we have the friction in the hubs reduced with the latest technology, lets move to the rotational mass. The #1 question that most people ask about a wheelset is “How much do they weigh?”. This is a valid question however more importantly is “How much do the RIMS weigh?”. Remember the further away something is from its rotational axis the more it will “weigh” at speed. Yes, physics play such a crucial role in performance of any wheel. That’s why we took a good look at the components of our Bormio wheelsets to make a versatile climbing wheelset that will climb with the best of them and give you great braking performance for the descents. We are using a 380gram alloy rim for this wheelset.
We have added a lighter and more
aero spoke to help reduce wind drag and rotating weight even further.
Please don’t be fooled by total wheelset weights. Hubs and spokes make
a minute difference to the weight that can be saved from the outside of your
wheels.

Our Pista wheels our built to the same rigorous standards as our road wheels. The rims are put on a gauge to make sure they are concentric and straight before they are hand-built, using a traditional 32-spoke cross-3 spoke pattern. The J-bend spokes with normal spoke nipples we use on our Pista wheels make repairs a snap! Of course we use the best spokes in the world, Pillar stainless steel, made from Sandvik rod.
The high-flange hubs have sealed bearings. The rear flip-flop hub allows a fixed gear with lock ring on one side and a freewheel can be mounted on the other.
The rims are entirely black anodized. Because a high percentage of track wheels get road use, they do have machined sidewall brake tracks for accurate stopping.
The wheels weigh 1960 grams a pair, including the track nuts. Sprocket and lock ring are not included.
For safety's sake, always use a lock ring when riding a fixed gear.
